Our Team |
Our SchoolWe are the Evansville North High School Huskies. Our school is the biggest in the EVSC cooperation. We are very successful in both athletics and academics and plan to prove ourselves in robotics as well.
Our TeamsInside of our robotics team, we have split ourselves into our own mini teams. We have the business team, build team, design team, safety team, electrical team, strategy and compliance team, and the programming team. All of us work together to make everything happen.
Our MentorsOur mentors work together and work with the students to give us guidance on what to do. All of our mentors have experience either with engineering or they are in a career that involves what we are doing here. Our mentors are volunteer parents that come in to help us out after work.
Our Engineering ProgramWe have a great engineering program here at North High School. They offer two different classes here; Intro to Engineering Design and Principles of Engineering. Both classes are taught by Mr. Bobbitt. These classes break down different parts of engineering and design and give us skills that we may need later on in our careers.
Our TeacherOur PLTW teacher Brian Bobbitt has many degrees and certifications in different engineering and technology fields. Along with teaching our engineering classes here at North, he teaches technology classes at a local college. He has won many awards, including 2018 Evansville PTSA Teacher of the Year and 2017 Technology School of the Year. Mr. Bobbitt has also written and published and book on 3D printing.
